Who We Are

Each day, millions of consumers rely on over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, dietary supplements, and consumer medical devices to help maintain their health and treat a wide range of ailments such as cold and flu, fever, headache, cuts and scrapes, and upset stomach.

But did you know:

  • Eight in ten parents have given the wrong dose of liquid medicine to their child by accident

  • 50,000 kids go to the emergency room each year because they got into medicine that was left within reach

  • 62 percent of adults have never sought information on how to properly dispose of OTC medicines

The Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA) Educational Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to helping consumers lead happier, healthier lives by providing information and guidance on how to safely use, store, and dispose of OTC medicines, dietary supplements, and consumer medical devices.

Our Impact

The foundation keeps a pulse on the evolving consumer healthcare space and provides the education needed to make a meaningful impact on public health and ensure the responsible use of consumer healthcare products.
