(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – The Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA) released the below statement today following Tennessee Governor Bill Lee's recent signing of Senate Bill 2048 into law, legislation that raises the monthly purchase limit for common over-the-counter (OTC) cold and allergy medications containing the ingredient pseudoephedrine (PSE) from 5.76 grams per month to 7.2 grams, allowing access to a full 30-day supply per month. The bill also raises the annual purchase limit to 43.2 grams, which is a 40% increase from the current limit of 28.8 grams.
